What you’ll do?
We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our team in Wellington (near the Chelston roundabout). This is a full time opportunity to join our wider Finance team of 4 and have 2 direct reports.
Your role will include but not limited to:
- Full ownership of the following balance sheet reconciliations: Accruals, prepayments, fixed asset register, hire purchase, bad debt and sales credit provision, accrued income, deferred income, corporation tax, intercompany nominal accounts, stock, VAT.
- Ownership of all payroll related review activity, payroll recs, actuals vs budget/forecast variance etc.
- Produce monthly management accounts which will incorporate a P&L (including variance analysis and commentary) balance sheet, cash flow and supplementary headcount and Financial KPI reporting.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations on 2 current accounts.
- Posting of all journals to aid the month end procedure including fixed asset depreciation, accruals, prepayments, corporation tax, wages, stock.
- Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, obtaining inputs from the operational team
What we’re looking for?
- CIMA 2ndstage studier or above
- Attention to detail is key
- Confident communicator at all levels
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload
- Desire to get the right outcomes in an efficient and methodical manner
- You will have good business acumen and be able to work with numbers accurately
- Previous experience using Blackline preferred (or similar finance tools)
- Experience in a manufacturing or construction business would be preferable however not essential to be successful in this role.
